Green Desktop Computer

How do I add new songs to my green iPod mini without losing the old songs?
I have a green iPod mini. On my laptop computer, I have a lot of songs that go on my iPod. But it’s hard to get to my laptop sometimes. I want to put some songs on my DESKTOP computer to eventually transfer to the iPod, but if the iPod automatically updates when I plug it in, it will add the two new songs but it will delete all the others that aren’t on my desktop computer. How can I add the new songs without deleting the old ones, from the laptop?
Oooooh I know! Try enabling Disk Mode. You can do this under iPod Preferences in iTunes. Now click Apply or OK or whatever. Then unplug and plug back in your iPod (to the desktop, though, this time). Your iPod will appear as a drive on your computer. You have to drag the files you want in to the appropriate folder on your iPod. This should work!
